3 Things to Take Care of While You're in Quarantine
If you have to be quarantined in your home for a while, here are some possibilities
you may not have thought of, and three things you should take care of.
Yourself
Although you may be tempted to turn the quarantine into one long slumber
party, experts say that's not the best idea. Try to maintain your routine as
much as possible. Go to bed and wake up when you normally do. Get dressed,
bathe, and eat when you normally do.
Staying active is important. Yoga can be very helpful for dealing with
feelings of stress, depression, and anxiety. There are thousands of free
workout videos available through a multiple of streaming services, or celebrate
the nostalgia and have a few laughs as you dust off that old fitness DVD in the
basement. Physical activity boosts those feel-good moods, so find a way to do
it and have fun, even if it’s just dancing around in the living room.
Your Loved Ones
Secondly, you will want to take care of your loved ones. Call an elderly
relative to check on them, video chat with a friend, or play an online game
with your siblings. The silver lining is that this is the age of electronic
communication. There are so many ways you can connect with others without ever
having to be in the same physical space.
If your kids are home from school take this time as an opportunity to
teach them a subject or skill they wouldn’t have learned or had time to explore
in-depth at school. Sewing, cooking, gardening, knitting, or art are just some
areas where you can peak their interest and teach them a life skill.
Your House
One thing that is good to take care of, especially when you need it the
most right now is your house. Open up the blinds and let the sunlight beam
through. If you have any essential oils or candles why not use them to bring
refreshing aromas into your space. Hopefully, you have worked with your
HVAC companies in Pittsburgh, PA to make sure your heating and air
conditioning are working properly so you stay comfortable. If you notice any
issues while you are spending more time at home give them a call first and see
if an inspection is necessary after your quarantine time is up.
